Common Terms

The Celestial RPG uses a set of common terms, definitions, and abbreviations to describe the different system aspects of the game. This section provides a list of common terms.

Player: The Player is the real-life player that controls a Hero.

Hero: A Hero is the character that the Player creates for the campaign. The Hero has an accompanying Hero Sheet that contains all pertinent information to that Hero for play.

Power Level: Each Hero has a Power Level. This Power Level is composed of the total Attribute Power Level of a Hero.

Attribute: An Attribute marks the power and capacity of a Hero. There are seven attributes: Strength, Agility, Health, Method, Sense, Passion, and Chi. Each Attribute has a Current Attribute value and a Maximum Attribute value. The Maximum Attribute is the maximum value that your Attribute has. The Current Attribute marks how much of your Maximum Attribute is used up.

Focused Attribute: A Focused Attribute is an Attribute that a Player has decided to improve during character creation or extensive advancement.

Attribute Level: An Attribute Level represents every 10 points in an Attribute.

Training: Each Hero has a list of Trainings that they may put points into. These are based on and limited by an Attribute. Training influences combat, checks, and much more.

Attack: An Attack is a dice roll combined with an Attribute and any modifiers. The exact dice roll used is defined by the appropriate Combat Style trained by the Hero.

Combat Style: When making an attack, a Hero choose what Combat Style they wish to use. This Combat Style is a Training and the amount of Training points used define what die or dice the Player uses.
