Character Creation
[Insert cool intro paragraph here]
[Insert guidelines the player should keep in mind]
Pick your Archetype
Once you’ve figured out what type of role you wish to fulfill, choose an Archetype from the Archetypes to use for your Character.
Example
Neya wants to be a front-line fighter, so she decides to be a Noble.
Determine Attributes
In addition to the starting 10 in each Attribute, roll a for each of the 7 Attributes. If using the Free Assigning rules, you may place your assign your Attribute Rolls to whichever Attribute you wish. If using the No Assignment rules, you must place the resulting roll into the Attribute it was intended for. If using the Average Assignment rules, you are free to place 40 points into each Attribute with an upper limit of 10 in each Attribute.
In addition to the base for each Attribute, you must also select which 3 Attributes you wish to become your Focused Attributes. Using your Free Focus and your Archetypes 2 Focuses, choose which Attributes shall receive an additional
. Once decided, roll a
for each Focused Attribute and add to the corresponding Attribute. If you roll a 1 on a Focused Attribute, you may reroll it once.
- Attribute Roll: 10 +
+ (1d10 if Focused)
Example
Neya decides choose her Focuses first, as the Game Master is using Free Assigning rules. Since she is a Noble, she Focuses Strength first and decides that Agility would be a good use of her Archetype’s secondary Focus. She then places her Free Focus in Health, as she would like to increase her survivability.
She now rolls 7 d10s for all her Attributes before rolling additional 3 d10s for her Focused Attributes. On her third Focus roll, she rolls a 1, prompting her to reroll. Unfortunately, she rolled 1 again and has to accept that as her Focused Attribute bonus.
In the end, her Attributes are: 24 Strength, 22 Agility, 19 Health, 13 Method, 14 Sense, 16 Passion, and 12 Chi.
This gives her the following Attribute PLs: 2 Strength, 2 Agility, 1 Health, 1 Method, 1 Sense, 1 Passion, and 1 Chi. This gives her a Total Power Level of 9.
Determine Trainings
Each beginning Character starts with an amount of Ranks to distribute in their Trainings. The amount of Ranks a Character receives is determined by the Archetype’s Rank Attribute’s PL and their Method PL. [Archetype Attribute PL + Method PL] x 3
Once the amount of Ranks is determined, the Player can then place Ranks into the desired Training, up to the Attribute PL or the Attribute PL + 1 if Focused.
Example
Since Neya has chosen a Noble, her starting Training Ranks are [(Strength PL + Method PL) x 3] – in her case 6, since (2+1) x 3 = 9.
From this, she decides to place full Ranks in her Combat Style: Longswords Training, giving her a Ranking of 3 – or a – when using a Longsword.
